Terms of Employment:
Permanent, Full Time (Overtime, Day, Night, Evening, Weekend)
Wage information: $25 or more Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week.
Anticipated Start Date: April 01, 2024. Business address: 1 Municipal Rd Coronach, SK S0H 0Z0; Farm is located in the rural area of Coronach, SK Work Location Information: Rural area (Cattle farm).
Work Location: Coronach, SK, cattle farm About employer: Our farm consist of a 3,000 head feedlot with 1000 commercial and pure bred mother cows, 300 bred heifer development program, and 15,000 acres of crop land. We strive to be the best in the business and are constantly making changes to get there. All of our machinery and facilities are new, clean and very well maintained. Position overview: To work in a team with cattle farm workers and harvesting labourers, with the key objective being to maximize the productivity and profitability of the property, without compromising stock welfare, plant condition or human resources. Reports to: Owner
Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
Education: On-the-job training will be provided. Experience Some work experience obtained by working on a farm (or experience of working in an agricultural environment) would be preferred but it is not mandatory. Farm workers spend a lot of time on their feet. A good fitness level is required to be effective in this role. Languages: Speak English, Read English Weight Handling: Up to 20 kg (40 lbs).
Job Duties
Prepare soil, Plant, fertilize, and harvest crops, Feed livestock, Assist livestock during calving season if necessary, Ensure the environment is safe for animals and detect any diseases or health problems with livestock, Assist with general farm maintenance and maintenance of equipment and tools, load and ship harvested products, Safeguard crop health, Safely and responsibly use any hand tools provided by the farm, and return them in good condition at the end of each assignment. Utilizes best practices based on instruction from supervisor(s), Help with upkeep of the harvest supply station upon direction or request, Maintain the farm’s facilities, infrastructure and machinery, including cleaning stables and barnyards Provide collaborative feedback to teammates to help elevate the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the team, May write daily progress reports of inventory harvested, Other duties as assigned.
