Continuing Education - Gr 8 Reach-Ahead Summer School Teachers (Summer 2024)

LOCATION: Upper Grand DSB – Guelph or Orangeville site or Virtual

RATE: $55.14 per hour

HOURS: July 3rd – 26th, 2024; Onsite 8:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. (110 hours) Online summer courses will have a workday of 6 hours. Teachers can schedule those hours in consultation with the eLearning Summer School Supervisor, between 8:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. each day of the summer term.

FEDERATION AFFILIATION : While performing this position, you are a member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation representing the District 18 Teachers’ Bargaining Unit. Union dues will apply.

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful applicant(s) will deliver the following half or full credits to students entering Grade 9 in September 2024:

  • CHV 2O – Civics (0.5 credit) – onsite in Guelph and/or Orangeville
  • CHV 2O – Civics (0.5 credit) – via elearning
  • CHV 2OF – Civics (0.5 credit) French Immersion – onsite in Guelph
  • GLC 2O – Careers (0.5 credit) – onsite in Guelph and/or Orangeville
  • GLC 2O – Careers (0.5 credit) – via elearning
  • GLC 2OF – Careers (0.5 credit) French Immersion – onsite in Guelph
  • GLE 1O – Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School – via elearning
  • GLE 20 – Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School (A Math Focus) – onsite in Guelph
  • GLS 1O – Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School – onsite in Guelph and/or Orangeville
  • GLS 1O – Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School – via elearning

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualification in the division and subject area for which you are applying
  • Experience delivering curriculum through online learning platforms (e.g. Brightspace and Google Classroom)
  • Special Education, Part 1 required for GLE 1O & 20 credits and will be considered an asset for applicants applying to teach GLS 1O
