Description
Enhancing community care options for Albertans continue to be a key priority for AHS. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual well-being as well as support the long-term mental health and wellness of patients and their families. To support this goal, Fort McMurray Addictions and Mental Health-Child & Youth department has an opportunity for a temporary Social Worker II position. The Child and Youth, Community Addictions and Mental Health program provides specialized assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and their families. The addictions and mental health, child and youth team work collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team providing care of children experiencing serious emotional, psychological, behavioral and/or psychiatric illness. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
