A Niu Veterinary Hospital is located in the thriving City of Richmond, BC. We are a full-service veterinary hospital, providing specialist, around the clock care to our patients.

We are currently looking for an experienced, full-time Veterinary Technician (Animal Health Technician), who is self-motivated, organized and patient-focused to join our growing team. The individual must be skilled and have industry knowledge to provide excellent care and service to our customers.

We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our clients and their pets, as well as the positive work environment we have created. We are looking for someone who is a dedicated team player and is passionate about animal care.

*Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals before and after treatment/surgery.
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and catheter placements.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Take and process diagnostic images such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Educate clients on animal care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ensure patient comfort and document care
- Communicate effectively with Doctor to provide notification of changes or concerns.
- Commit to learning procedures and protocols, equipment safety, and treatments performed.
- Responsible for monitoring supply inventory and overall organization and cleanliness of work space.

**Requirements:**
- Associate degree or higher in Veterinary Technology or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a related work environment.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint.
- Excellent knowledge of common drugs/medications
- Must be able to work with shift schedules, including night shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and emergencies.
- Effectively able to prioritize and execute patient triage.
- Must be fluent in English.
