Join a top employer and advance your career. Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to hire a Continuous Improvement Engineer based in Saskatoon.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development of new and enhanced products and processes for the fabrication of cutting tools used in underground mining, as well as customized support equipment and accessories. The primary focus will be on product improvement, development, manufacturing process optimization, and failure analysis to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, visit client sites as needed, and utilize data-driven insights to drive efficiency improvements across the organization.

Responsibilities:
Lead product improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and durability of cutting tools for underground mining applications.
Conduct failure analysis of components in service to determine the root cause of premature failure and identify opportunities for design or material modifications.

Supporting Functions:
Identify and evaluate the technical capabilities of suppliers to ensure alignment with company standards and requirements.

Requirements:
Education in a relevant engineering discipline, with a focus on materials sciences, is preferred.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Applied Science Technologist (AScT) designation is required.
3-5 years of prior experience in product development, manufacturing process improvement, or related roles, preferably within the mining or heavy equipment industry, with a strong background in materials sciences.
