Job Description
. Prepare menus and estimate labour costs
. Engage in recruitment of staff and engage in designing policies or budgets
. Check kitchen and dining areas and utensils and equipment to make sure sanitarystandards are met
. Maintain and control food and service quality
. Supervise serving of meals
. Maintain quality of special or regular diets and food, to be delivered to hospital patients
. Maintain records, such as amount and cost of meals served, and hours worked byemployees
. Educate employees regarding job responsibilities, sanitation, cleanliness, and safetystandards
. Keep up with stock reports, repair reports, sales reports, etc.
. Set job schedules
. Instruct chefs according to special requirements proposed by customers regarding theirfood
. Order ingredients or supplies used for food preparation
. Direct, synchronize and set the duties of employees who are engaged in foodpreparation
