RADAR-DOLORETEGHOLOR AFRICAN FOOD DISTRIBUTION Inc. specializes in the import and distribution of ethnic African foods across Canada. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail and Wholesale Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a passion for the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Select and purchase quality food products in line with company requirements.
• Assess and negotiate prices, terms, and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
• Maintain an optimal inventory level, ensuring product availability while minimizing excess stock.
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance.
• Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to anticipate demand.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional strategies.
• Monitor and manage budgetary constraints effectively.
Qualifications:
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent (Canadian equivalency confirmed).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or wholesale environment, preferably in the food industry.
• Proficiency in both English and French.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to analyze market trends and consumer demand.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and inventory management software.
• Knowledge of African food products is an asset.
