SELC College is currently seeking a Program Head & College Instructor to join our team. Position: Program Head & College Instructor

Field of instruction: Business Management

Duties and responsibilities

1. CLASS INSTRUCTION

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction using various teaching methods in different settings (classroom, lab, outdoor, online) for day and/or evening classes.
• Develop, update, revise, and maintain curriculum content and instructional materials.
• Manage classrooms, including maintaining accurate attendance and grade reports, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Assess, document, and enhance student learning by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting learning outcomes.
• Participate in student orientation sessions and represent the school positively to prospective students.
• Assist with facility tours to promote the school's academic and non-academic achievements to prospective students and stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date professional/technical knowledge and skills through continued professional development.
• Establish and maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.


2. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION
• Develop and enhance curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and the needs of diverse learners.
• Design engaging lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments to support student learning outcomes.
• Coordinate with professional organizations and textbook providers for updates on materials and resources.
• Implement innovative teaching methodologies, incorporating technology to enhance instruction.


3. INSTRUCTOR SUPERVISION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
• Provide leadership and guidance to faculty, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
• Conduct regular observation and evaluation of instructors, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Facilitate professional development opportunities, including workshops, training sessions, and peer collaboration initiatives while working closely with Operations & Campus director.


4. STUDENT SUPPORT & PROGRESS MONITORING
• Foster a culture of student engagement, motivation, and academic excellence through personalized attention and support.
• Collaborate with instructors and students to develop customized learning plans and support strategies for diverse learning needs.
• Facilitate off-campus tours and experiential learning opportunities to enhance student experiences.
• Collaborate with leadership on opportunities for volunteering to build student confidence, soft skills, and understanding of Canadian culture.


5. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES & CAMPUS LEADERSHIP
• Assist the Operation & Campus Director in overseeing daily operations, including class scheduling, resource allocation, and student enrollment management.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and conducting performance reviews for faculty members in your team.
• Work with the Leadership Team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives supporting the SELC mission and goals.
• Represent the college in meetings with community stakeholders and educational partners, promoting positive relationships and effective communication.


Employment requirements
• Master’s degree in Business Management or a related field.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in Business Management courses at the post-secondary level, curriculum development, and utilizing various teaching methods (online, hybrid, in-person)
• Industry insight: relevant professional experience in Business Management.
• Proven ability to lead faculty, conduct evaluations, and provide professional development.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support and motivate diverse learners.
• Experience in class scheduling, resource management, and policy implementation.
• Excellent skills for collaborating with stakeholders and representing the college.
• Experience in an educational leadership role, including faculty supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with students and others at all levels of the organization.

Wage
$36.25 per hour
