The Job
We are looking for an energetic Kitchen Helper to join our team. He/she will be responsible for assisting the chef and line cooks. This includes preparing ingredients, cleaning the kitchen and its appliances.
Duties of the Kitchen Helper include:
• Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash and clean the garbage area
• Sanitize, sweep, and mop the kitchen/dining room floor as directed
• Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
• Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables and fruits
• Keep track of food ingredient levels and report shortages
Requirements for the role:
• Completion of high school is required
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not a mandatory requirement
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
