To ensure seamless communication, network performance, and security, we are seeking a dedicated Network Support Technician. This role is vital to enhancing the reliability of our network systems and supporting our staff and students with their technical needs, whether on-site or remotely.
• Position: Network Support Technician (NOC 22220)
• Wage: C$38.25/hour, 30-40 hours/week
• Overtime Wage: CAD $57.38 per hour for hours worked beyond 40 hours per week or 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure the stability of the school network system and the security of staff and student accounts.
• Provide problem-solving services to school staff and students requiring in-person support or remote remediation.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues such as server performance, security monitoring, and network traffic; administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet, and peripheral equipment.
• Assist school staff in performing scripting and commands to ensure the network system runs smoothly, and document activities.
• Assist school staff with evaluating and installing computer hardware, networking software, operating system software, and software applications.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade web-server hardware and software.
• Maintain accurate records of completed and pending jobs using a ticketing system (start/end times, work performed details); escalate incidents and/or problems as required.
• Assist school staff and students in performing data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Demonstrate good social skills in a professional environment.
• Other related duties as required.

• Logical troubleshooting skills and a collaborative working style.
Education, Experience & Skills:
• A college diploma in the field of IT or an equivalent technical certificate is required.
Experience:
• A minimum of one year of experience in the related field is required.
• Previous demonstrated experience with computer network troubleshooting.
