We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive and driven Logistics Team Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the transportation industry, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization including coordinate activities with other work units or departments including but not limited to brokers, terminals, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), etc.
• Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality
• Supervise, train and motivate workers in duties and policies
• Establish work schedules and procedures including co-ordinate assign and review work
• Accurately communicate with the team and ensure compliance of policies, procedures for safety and security, standards and rules
• Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and internal/external stakeholders including resolving shipment issues
• Understand and analyze freight costs to ensure optimal performance and competitive costs
• Interact with vendors and work collaboratively to ensure all service expectations are met
• Audit freight invoices and approve for payment in a timely manner
• Addressed shipment release issues by liaising with shipping companies and customs to resolve documentation discrepancies
• Perform logistics duties such as handle export and import operations including but not limiting to Bill of Lading issuance, customs clearance and declarations, etc.
• Perform all other related duties including prepare reports for management and conduct performance reviews.
Job Requirements:
• College / University Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or equivalent
• Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage (2 years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of freight shipping processes including LTF, FTL and international transportation
• Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent MS Office and ability to effectively use technology to perform required tasks.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with TMS (Transportation Management Software) is a plus
• Required to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
