Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee our operations in goods production, transportation, utilities, and construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, overseeing operational policies, vendor relations, and team performance. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning and Policy Development: Establish and oversee company objectives, formulating and approving policies and programs to achieve long-term organizational success.
• Organizational Structure and Leadership: Authorize and manage the establishment of major departments and senior staff positions, ensuring an effective organizational hierarchy to support operational goals.
• Corporate Representation and Negotiations: Represent the company or delegate representatives in negotiations and official functions to build strategic partnerships and foster stakeholder relationships.
• Operational Coordination and Oversight: Coordinate the activities of regions, divisions, and departments to align with company objectives and streamline operations.
• Logistics & Operations: Plan, organize, direct, and control operational logistics across multiple departments.
• Leadership & Delegation: Select, mentor, and manage middle managers, directors, and staff. Oversee performance metrics (KPIs) and ensure team objectives are met.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Review and audit external contractors to ensure projects align with financial strategies. Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators, production subcontractors for services and preferential rates.
• Order Management & Accuracy: Ensure outbound orders are accurate, achieving a 99% fill rate.
• Transportation & Safety Standards: Set transportation service rates and performance indicators, and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and transportation regulations.
• Contract & Budget Management: Oversee contract negotiations for transportation and production vendors, as well as manage departmental budgets and purchasing decisions.
• EDI Strategy & Customer Coordination: Develop EDI strategy and manage customer onboarding, both new and existing, to EDI systems.
• Inventory & Compliance: Implement comprehensive inventory management using QuickBooks and ensure compliance with CARMS, brokerage, and customs regulations.
• Training & Development: Oversee training programs for new hires and staff development.
• Reporting & Strategy: Prepare key operational reports, adjust schedules, and recommend strategic changes.

Qualifications
Education
• A college diploma or university degree in Business, Transportation Administration, or a related field is required
Experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in freight traffic or transportation-related management.
• 1-2 years of experience in implementing EDI protocols.
• 1-2 years of vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
Computer & Technology Skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, SPS Commerce, EDI systems, and CRM tools.

Specialized Knowledge
• Experience in freight and transportation administration is preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, vendor qualification, and procurement.
