Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and skilled Truck Driver, who is self- motivated, able to thrive in a fast-moving environment and can effectively meet deadlines.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS systems, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
• Maintain professionalism in all customer service interactions.
• Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
• Operate and drive both straight and articulated trucks to transport goods and materials to various destinations.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle, performing inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment.
• Handle payments for goods, ensuring accuracy in transactions and receipts.
• Perform brake adjustments to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Carry out emergency roadside repairs when necessary to keep operations running smoothly.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle's operation to ensure safety and compliance.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to keep vehicles in optimal working condition.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption as part of routine documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
Education
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience
1 year to less than 2 years of trucking for specialty-breed and regular-breed chicken products as well as live specialty-breed chickens.
