Position Overview:
• Permanent, Full-time position
• Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
• Location: Stoney Creek (Travel to Client job sites throughout the GTA)
• Wage: $42.25 -$48.50 per hours
• 3 weeks vacation

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration & AC Mechanic to join our team. This role demands a high level of proficiency and adaptability in the following areas:
Responsibilities:
Installation of Walk-in Freezers:
- Understanding all types of refrigeration and AC equipment, in particular on equipment such as VRV’s, VRF’s, walk in coolers, walk in freezers, rack systems, pharmaceutical refrigeration, ducted splits, ductless splits, make up air units, air handling unit’s
- Measure and prepare installation sites for walk-in freezer units.
- Assemble, mount, and secure refrigeration units, evaporators, compressors, and condensers according to layout specifications.
System Servicing and Maintenance:
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on walk-in freezer units to ensure efficient operation.
- Test electrical components, connections, and thermostats for functionality and safety compliance.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose issues in refrigeration systems, including leaks, faulty electrical components, and compressor problems
- Repair or replace defective parts, such as compressors, motors, fans, valves, or electrical wiring.
System Upgrades and Modifications:
- Recommend and implement system upgrades to improve energy efficiency or performance.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations, including the safe handling and disposal of refrigerants.
Customer Communication and Support:
- Explain maintenance and operation procedures to clients to ensure proper use of walk-in freezers.
- Provide recommendations for system care and advice on troubleshooting minor issues.
- Be able to price jobs correctly and be held accountable for profit and loss on these jobs
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the equipment being supplied to customers
- Sell to new and different customers when the opportunity arises
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for various administrative tasks, including reporting and documentation.
What we are looking for:
- Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over seven years of work experience and industry courses in refrigeration and air conditioning repair
- Trade certification
- Proven experience in water cooled condensing units, air cooled units, indoor condensing units, walk in freezers, walk in coolers, R290, Pharmaceutical refrigeration, VRF, VRV, ducted splits, ductless splits, air handling units, make up air units, Rack systems, Emerson, Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Keeprite and KE2 controllers and select centralised controllers
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with customers and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for basic administrative tasks.
- Be on call
- Research and develop new and low GWP systems
- Refrigeration and A/C apprenticeship completion or equivalent.
