We are looking for an Assistant Manager- Food Services for Charles Dickens located at 423 Elizabeth St, Burlington, ON L7R 2L8 Canada. You may be required to work at various locations in the region.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to deliver a high-quality dining experience.
Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, and performance management, while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portioning to ensure all menu items meet established standards for consistency, taste, and visual appeal.
Step in to support kitchen operations during busy periods, including basic food preparation, garnishing, and plating, ensuring timely service and smooth workflow.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with a calm, solutions-oriented approach, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Track and maintain inventory for kitchen, bar, and dining area supplies; liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and cost-effective purchasing.
Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including food safety guidelines, WHMIS standards, and workplace cleanliness.
Supervise POS system usage and cash handling procedures, including daily reconciliations, shift reports, and end-of-day balancing.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar leads to ensure effective communication during peak service hours, large bookings, and special events.
Assist in the planning and execution of promotions, themed events, seasonal menu rollouts, and community engagement initiatives.
Participate in menu planning discussions by providing feedback on customer preferences, service flow, and popular items.
May perform other related duties or provide hands-on support in any department as required to maintain smooth service operations.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary School Certificate or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 2 years to 3 years of experience in the Food industry.
Annual Salary: $53,200 to $57,000 for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
