Term of Employment: Full-Time Permanent Position (35-37 hours per week)
Work Location: 1600 Government St, Victoria, British Columbia V8W 1Z3
Job Duties:
• Prepare meat, cut/peel vegetables, and other ingredients before the food service starts.
• Lead the kitchen helpers according to the requirements to avoid long wait times.
• Must be able to work without supervision and oversee kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Observe and maintain the food presentation standards up to company standards and guidelines.
• Be proactive in maintaining the equipment and request required repairs from the appropriate personnel.
• Keep track of the food stocks and other supplies and maintain inventory accordingly to avoid any service disruptions.
• Ensure that food safety procedures are followed as instructed in the company’s Standard Operating Procedures
• Train kitchen helpers to achieve efficiency.
• Assist with the cleaning of the Kitchen area and equipment after the service is over.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of High School would be an asset.
• 1+ year of experience in commercial cooking, OR a college qualification in commercial cookery would be preferred but not mandatory.
• Able to work for long hours, on weekends and holidays.
• Good at multitasking
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
